L.A-Mecca of Literati.....We Walk and Chew.
Last Saturday and Sunday, Spring smiled on Los Angeles.Bright, breezy and warm weather. Perfect for the 11th Los Angeles Times 'Festival of Books'.
UCLA campus was the mecca for over 130,000 Literati who trekked to express this L.A Spring ritual.Despite the anchor of Hollywood and entertainment,L.A is now the premiere book market of the U.S.A.
One would assume that NYC held that exalted position. However the market research and numbers tell the tale. Many publishers and authors from the east coast were in attendance to get a piece of our action.
TigerHawk enjoyed watching this festival's explosion over the past decade. It's a yearly re-union for many of us.
Frankly it is encouraging that so many do read. A healthy counter to the corporate media's hypnosis.
I made many new friends who will be featured here and on my podcasts.
I will mention a few and their sites.
Sheree Brown and her husband Douglass Johnson,Sr., produced the Book/CD/DVD project 'Zhakanaka'.A story about a little girl named Alex who gets bullied. See what happens when her teacher Mr.Jesse shows up.
Richard Florczak is Hollywood's Premiere Chef to the stars such as Mel Gibson and Jennifer Garner.
Anthony Ray Williams says 'Chivalry is not Dead'.A member of the world renowned Agape Church in Santa Monica.CA,Anthony has a book Release Dinner event on 5/13/2006. Samba Brazilian Steakhouse and Bar in Redondo Beach is the venue. He says 'Men honor all Ladies,Ladies be worthy of all honors...'
My Podcast 'Conversation with Kandace Lindsey' has been heavily played and downloaded for the past few weeks. Many new listeners have arrived from worldwide locations and search engines. My flava and vibe is resonating. Many more exciting media events are in play. Some will be private for my TigerHawk V.I.P Circle. Remember to e-mail to tigerhawk.michael@gmail.com.TigerHawk V.I.P Circle in the subject line.Share your thoughts on my content and a bit about yourself.
Finally, a brief comment on the profile of my regulars and my TigerHawk content. My blogs are continually reflecting my diverse observations and interests. My loyals know and support the drill. I make no claims of authority on any subject explored. I merely share my research, insights and observations. Hopefully you get something from this process, and are encouraged to pursue your own further research. My audience embraces diverse content from Cinema such as my Brando blog, my cathartic response to Katrina as I examine Eco-dynamics, to Brazilian Candomble traditions and Tom Jobim's music. We walk and chew gum.
The statistics reflect the growing interest in these diverse themes. That said, I assure you the upcoming exploration will (as my friend Yoshua says) 'Bake your Noodle'.
Thank you for visiting.
TigerHawk.
